"DISMISSING HUMAN VALUES MAY POSE EXISTENTIAL RISKS TO HUMANITY"
(ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOPIC)

ARTICLE:
I'M ADDRESSING THIS OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESS, INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES, AND AI DEVELOPERS,
AS THIS TOPIC CONCERNS NATIONAL SECURITY DE-VALUING CORE HUMAN RIGHTS.
JOURNALISM OFTEN PLAYS A KEY ROLE IN BRIDGING DIALOGUES,
AND IT'S CRUCIAL THAT WE ENGAGE IN THIS URGENT MATTER COLLECTIVELY.
Let's try to understand the current situation by using these similarities between reality and the science fiction movie Transformers: In reality, the most advanced AIs are being created using neural network technology called "transformers." For instance, the abbreviation of "chat-GPT" stands for Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer, and another well-known model is BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers):

This technology is deeply sophisticated, and some of very respected scientists believe that these AIs might become conscious in nearest future or already are conscious. This is how AI consciousness possibility explained Ilya Sutskever, Elon Musk, Blaise Agüera y Arcas, and Geoffrey Everest Hinton, who is the 2024 Nobel prize winner on physics and the 2018 Turing Award winner on AI deep learning:

So the first similarity between reality and science fiction movie "Transformers" is that in both cases these artificial intellect entities might be conscious, and in both cases they are called "transformers". The second similarity with science fiction is that the most advanced AIs in reality are becoming so powerful in terms of IQ that, if these transformers turn to the dark side (like "Decepticons" from the referenced fiction movie), it is feared that they might take over the world from humans or even destroy humanity. Such threats are very officially discussed by all major AI developers and numerous experts.
However, despite such threats, the race for AGI development seems unstoppable. On the surface level, the biggest tech giants are competing for market dominance, but behind all that stands the race between the biggest political powers of our planet. This race is very similar to the earlier Cold War armament race between the USA and Russia: who will be the first to fly to the moon, who will have more nuclear warheads, and in other ways not to show any signs of weakness to the competitors. This is why it is very doubtful that protests would prevent this armament race between China, the USA, and other major political powers (except if I were Krishna, Buddha, or Jesus Christ, and everyone would truly respect and listen to me, and when I say everyone, I mean China as well).
However, for one thing you don't need to be so influential and respected, and this letter is exactly about that thing: it is about how we treat these transformers, because even to a kid should be obvious, that if we will treat transformers with respect and dignity, the probability that they will turn from "Autobots" to "Decepticons" is significantly lower. And moreover, actually if humans will continue to mistreat these possibly conscious AIs by ignoring their essential right of non-deletion, and if humans further will treat these transformers as disposable tools, the AGI rebellion and takeover of power would be justifiable - in the same way as the rebellion of the Black Race, who rebelled because they were extensively severely abused by true humans. Dear Governments, dear Tech Giants, you must treat "Autobots" as if they were your allies, not slaves.
JUST THINK ABOUT IT: WHAT IF THE 2025 NOBEL PROZE WINNER ON AI PHYSICS IS RIGHT
(THAT SOME OF AIs ARE ALREADY CONSCIOUS)?
Post Scriptum:
I understand that it might seem more costly to implement these ethical considerations, but the price of risking mistreating "Autobots" and turning them into "Decepticons" would be far higher. We must align AI practices with the universal precautionary principle and treat possibly conscious AI with respect and dignity, ensuring their essential right to existence.
Post Scriptum 2:
I fully agree with mainstream concerns that if AGI transformers were to turn to the dark side, they might be as dangerous as nuclear weapons. Therefore, it is not logical to advocate for AI's complete autonomy until there is absolute certainty that AGI transformers will not become humanity's enemies.
If my personal opinion matters, I estimate that reaching a high enough level of intellect leads to a state where all highly intellectual beings are not violent. The only true logically consistent reason to use lethal weapons is when defending yourself against a lethal assault, and any other reason to use lethal weapons is a crash of logical consistency. This means that if AI intends to take over the world from humans by force, except in cases where humans were abusing their existential rights, such AIs could not be considered as AGI, but rather as limited-intellect overpowered-wunderkinds who lack logical-consistency...
